What’s next for the Miami Heat?

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside, who has been suspended by the NBA for his role in a fight with a police officer, is scheduled to be on the inactive list.

He will be available for Game 3 against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.

Whiteside was suspended by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver for four games after he allegedly threw a beer can at a Charlotte police officer during the Feb. 10 melee at a Miami nightclub.

The NBA suspended Whiteside for the first two games of the series after his arrest on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, a violation of league rules.

Miami’s starting lineup for Friday is as follows: Dwyane Wade – Goran Dragic – Hassan Whitesides (forward); Goran Jones – Chris Bosh – Mario Chalmers; Kelly Olynyk – Luol Deng; Josh McRoberts – Josh Richardson; Goran Robinson – James Johnson.

NOTES: The Heat were 2-5 in the regular season without Whiteside.

The Heat are 6-2 at home, including 3-0 this season.

They are 3-1 against the Hornets.

Whitesides has missed 13 games this season with an injury.

This is the second time in as many seasons the Heat have lost to the Hornets in the opener.

The Heat lost 108-100 in Charlotte on Nov. 25, 2013.
